Privacy Policy
The short version: Prenct doesn't collect any data. Period.
What We Collect
Nothing. Zero. Zilch.
Prenct is a local-only macOS application. All your data — notes, tasks, text, tokens — stays on your Mac. We don't have servers. We don't have analytics. We don't even have a way to collect data if we wanted to.
What We Don't Collect
- No analytics. No Google Analytics, no Mixpanel, no Amplitude, no tracking pixels.
- No telemetry. We don't phone home. We don't track crashes. We don't monitor usage.
- No cloud sync. Your data never leaves your device. There's no backend to send it to.
- No accounts. No email, no login, no user profiles.
- No third-party services. The app runs entirely locally. Token counting uses offline libraries.
Data Storage
Prenct stores your notes, tasks, and settings locally in a SQLite database on your Mac. The database location:
~/Library/Application Support/Prenct/
You own this data completely. You can back it up, delete it, or move it whenever you want.
Network Access
Prenct does not require network access to function. The only network feature is the optional REST API, which runs on localhost (127.0.0.1) and is only accessible from your own machine.
Third-Party Code
Prenct uses open-source libraries for token counting (tiktoken, etc.). These libraries run entirely offline. No data is sent anywhere.
Updates
App updates are delivered through the Mac App Store. Apple's standard update mechanism applies. We have no additional update servers or channels.
